High Holidays 2020/5781

(Covid-19 Plan and Protocols)

This year we will be offering all High Holiday services via Live Streaming as well as offering limited capacity seating for our congregants who wish to attend services in-person in our sanctuary.

Admission to our “in-person” and/or “streaming services” will be limited to temple members in good standing (having made your pledge for the current fiscal year and either have paid in full or are up to date with your installment payments and all prior year balances paid).
  • Reservations will be required for each person living in your household for each individual service regardless of whether you plan to attend in-person or watch via the live stream. The live stream will be accessible from a smart phone, tablet, personal computer, and some internet-connected smart TVs.

  • In-Person seating will be limited to allow for social distancing as outlined by the CDC and NY State guidelines. At this point we anticipate being able to accommodate up to 200 congregants inside the building for each service. This is subject to change.

  • Reservations can only be made by:
    • a) using the online reservation form found at www.paytba.com (select the “2020 High Holiday Reservation - TEMPLE MEMBER ONLY” button), or
    • b) mailing the attached reservation form(s) (see the bottom of this page) back to the temple office

  • We strongly recommend using the online reservation form, as seating availability will be handled on a first come-first serve basis. We may also limit the number of in-person services each individual/family may attend in order to accommodate as many members as possible. There is no charge for temple members to reserve seats or attend the live stream, but reservations are required.

  • All reservations must be received by the office or completed online no later than Tuesday September 8th to enable us to process your “confirmation ticket” and provide you with the appropriate Live Stream Links prior to the holidays. Again, you must make a reservation for EACH INDIVIDUAL SERVICE you plan to attend.

  • This year, in-person seating reservations for additional family members ages 27+ living outside your household will ONLY be offered for specific services if the 200-person limitation noted above has not been reached. (I) Additional in-person seats are $100 per person. (II) The live stream is also available for congregants’ additional family members ages 27+ living elsewhere for an additional fee of $100 per email address/login. Please see the additional attendee reservation forms for more information. You may also make reservations for additional attendees by using online reservation found at www.paytba.com (select the “2020 High Holiday Reservation - ADDITIONAL FAMILY MEMBER" button).

  • For congregants who have made reservations to watch the live stream from home, Prayer Books will be available for you to borrow in advance of the High Holidays. We will schedule a "Drive By Pickup Day" in early September. Please watch your mail/email for further information about this.

Important Temple Beth Am Guidelines for in-person attendees:
  1. If you are a senior, or have underlying health conditions, please consider using the live-stream option. If you display any symptoms, or are feeling ill, please stay home.
  2. To assure your safety and the safety of others, it is mandatory that all congregants who attend in-person services adhere to the following:
    • Masks must be properly worn at all times while on Temple property, including the parking lot. This applies to all children ages 2 and above.

    • Your temperature will be taken using a contactless thermometer before being permitted to enter the building. If your temperature exceeds 100.2 degrees, you will be asked to return home.

    • Social distancing must be maintained at all times, especially when entering and exiting.

    • Please follow directions on all signage and floor arrows and follow orderly dismissal instructions to minimize contact with others.

    • Do not sit in areas/seats that are restricted from use.

    • Do not move chairs/seating cards unless you are a family unit sharing the same home. If you need assistance with seating, please ask one of the ushers for help.

    • Carefully listen to directions from the Bimah and ushers throughout the service and before exiting. Please remain in your seats until dismissal instructions are provided at the end of each service.

By applying for admission and attending services, you agree to abide by all of the above requirements and follow additional instructions from the bimah and the ushers.
